How Do LED Neon Sign Board Colors and Silicone Neon Tubes Work Together?

What determines the color of an LED neon sign board?
The illuminated color is mainly determined by the LED light source inside the neon tube. However, the outer silicone neon tube also affects how the sign looks when it is switched off and can influence the depth and softness of the illuminated color.
This is why some color names appear more than once in the 24-option chart. These options are not necessarily duplicate products. In some cases, they use the same LED color but different silicone neon tube colors.
What is the difference between No. 2 red and No. 14 red?
The red options shown in the chart provide a clear example.
No. 2 red: Red LED light source with a red silicone neon tube.
No. 14 red: Red LED light source with a white silicone neon tube.
Both No. 2 and No. 14 display red when the LED neon sign board is switched on because both use red LED light sources. The difference is the color of the silicone neon tube surrounding the light source.
With No. 2, the red silicone neon tube gives the sign a deeper and more saturated red appearance when illuminated. The sign also retains a visible red appearance when it is switched off.
With No. 14, the white silicone neon tube gives the sign a lighter and softer red appearance when illuminated. When the sign is switched off, the outer tube appears white, even though the internal LED light source is red. Once the sign is powered on, it still produces red light.
Why choose the same LED color with a different silicone neon tube?
This design gives buyers more control over both the illuminated and unlit appearance of the complete LED neon sign board.
A colored silicone neon tube can be selected when the sign needs to show a recognizable color even when it is not illuminated. This can help maintain a stronger visual connection between the sign and its selected color during daylight or when the power is switched off.
A white silicone neon tube can be selected when a clean, neutral appearance is preferred while the sign is switched off. The internal LED color remains unchanged, so the sign still displays the selected color when powered on.
The two tube options can also be used to create different visual effects:
• A matching LED color and silicone neon tube can create a stronger, deeper color appearance.

2. Review the requirements and receive a quotation

3. Confirm the sample order

4. Approve the sample for mass production and shipment
Once the sample has been checked and approved, YESUN proceeds with mass production according to the confirmed sample and order specifications. The finished custom LED neon sign boards are then prepared for shipment after production is completed.
